Global scholars are invited to apply to spend time with Washington University faculty and graduate students as part of the Distinguished Visiting Scholars program. During their time on campus, they will be encouraged to fully immerse themselves by leading workshops, delivering public lectures, visiting classes, and teaching seminars. As of February 2024, five positions were available to diverse scholars from historically underrepresented backgrounds who have proven themselves as leaders and innovators in academia, business, or other fields. Each scholar is hosted by a specific school or academic department within the university, which handles all the necessary arrangements for a successful visit. The Office of the Provost covers expenses related to the visit, including the stipend, airfare, hotel room, and official meals and events involving Washington University faculty, staff, and students.
