ICHAD secures $3.3m grant to study Ugandan girls’ transition to adulthood

The International Center for Child Health and Development (ICHAD) have obtained a $3.3 million research study grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to explore adolescent Ugandan girls transitioning into young adulthood. The new Suubi4Her-Round 2 (2024-2029) will extend the original 2017 – 2022 study which examined long-term effects of combination interventions on HIV prevention, care and mental health outcomes amongst adolescent girls. The research team includes Assistant Professor Proscovia Nabunya, Research Associate Professor Ozge Sensoy Bahar, Research Assistant Professor Rachel Brathwaite, Associate Professor Derek Brown, Research Assistant Professor Samuel Kizito and Research Director Clinical Studies Anita Kabarambi.
