In Fall 2019, Melanie Goldring went to the Dominican Republic to work with the DREAM Project.
Melanie worked with the DREAM Project as an Montessori Preschool Fellow.
"Something that was emphasized through my time at the DREAM Project is to celebrate
small victories. In social work and social policy, we as practitioners tend to dream and think big.
We want to see change for our clients/patients/communities/families. Sometimes recognizing
how small actions or small projects really are the building blocks for these long-term changes
gets lost in the shuffle. My peers and co-workers at the DREAM Project were extremely
supportive and were more than willing to celebrate an accomplishment that paved the way for
the next step in the process toward achieving the larger goal."
