Understanding Afghanistan: Insights from the New York Times’ Carlotta Gall

Carlotta Gall covered Afghanistan and Pakistan for the New York Times from 2001 to 2011. She has since continued covering Middle East events as the New York Times correspondent in Tunisia and currently is based in Turkey. Carlotta has recently contributed to coverage of the end of the U.S. and international coalition’s presence in Afghanistan, writing a series of insightful articles. In this conversation, Carlotta shares a unique perspective on the 20 years of war.
