International Event: Women Social Workers in South Sudan, Burundi, & Palestine on Wednesday, March 5

The Women Interest Group of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) is hosting an online event to mark International Women’s Day 2025. This webinar brings together social work educators, practitioners, and students from around the world to explore the challenges women face in conflict zones and the role of social workers in fostering transnational solidarity.

This year’s discussion will focus on women’s rights violations in times of war, the dehumanization of girls and women, and the ways in which social work can strengthen global support networks. The session will feature distinguished speakers sharing insights from South Sudan, Burundi, Palestine, and Ukraine, offering critical perspectives on gender-based violence, political oppression, and women’s resilience.
